External Organisations

The Organisations section lists partner and referrer organisations — the external agencies, GPs, schools, iwi services, and community groups that refer people to your organisation or that you collaborate with.

Access

The Organisations section is only visible to users with the Org Management or Admin role. If you don't see "Organisations" in the sidebar, contact your administrator.

What are external organisations?

External organisations are entities outside your own organisation that interact with your work — they send referrals, receive referrals, or provide support alongside you.

Examples include:

  • A GP practice that refers whānau into your service
  • A school that flags a student's needs
  • A housing provider you co-ordinate care alongside
  • An iwi service that shares clients across programmes

Keeping this list accurate ensures:

  • Referral sources are correctly attributed when creating entries
  • Contact people can be linked to incoming referrals
  • Your team has current contact details for co-ordination

The organisations list

The list has two tabs:

  • Active — organisations currently working with you
  • Inactive — organisations that have been deactivated (they remain in the system for historical records)

You can filter by organisation type and search by name to find a specific organisation quickly.

Creating a new organisation

Click Add Organisation (top right of the list). Fill in the following details:

  • Organisation name (required)
  • Organisation type — for example, Health, Education, Social Services, or Iwi/Community
  • Contact details — address, phone number, and website

Click Save to add the organisation. It will appear in the Active tab straight away.

Editing an organisation

Click an organisation row to open the detail view. Use the Edit button in the Details tab to update any information.
